Under the weight
of the prolonged
rests the peaceful
disintegration
of a name.
What is your hope?
It is feeling,
oozing past reality
to where experience
suffers spasmodic fits.
It is the long
and sullen
attaining
critical mass.
(The belief that)
with a push from
the other side,
the anguish disperses
and comes relief.
Maybe this is
where you find
it.
In the remembering.
In the soothing.
To mean,
to suffer --
sister soldiers
of internal discourse.
To verily believe
the unbelievable.

Mind you I have a hard time understading some poetry, but this one tells me a couple of different views.
One- of depression and one more push will pull the trigger
Two- old age and one more push and their name would be but a momory.
I had to read it a couple more times. I couldn’t find a spot to place the sisters.

Good intuition re: age. There’s certainly an element of that in there…something like, how long is too long when holding on to something (in this case the memory of a death).
The sisters are rhetorical flourish to give rise to the idea of suffering and meaning…always running hand in hand with one another, thus, sisters.

Well you certainly saw something regarding age that’s an important component of the piece…at least in the sense that age is reflective of time gone by. There’s also something to the notion of depression, though not of the sort that pushes someone over an edge…more like an idea that keeps them on a edge they’ve no idea how to walk away from…or an edge they think may disappear on its own.

I have a few poems on my blog site. They might be deep, but I think a little to point.

Yes, sure. And I mentioned about allowing for comments on your poems, I see that you do and I overlooked it. Let me read that one.

Thank you. I have no idea why the comment links are placed like that. They’re kind of hidden.

A fine poem, darkly coloured. I find the tone more light than burdening. It is as if there is a sense of acceptance or relief.

Acceptance, perhaps. Though I find most of my pieces forced into an acceptance of something discomforting.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment š

Nice thought-connecting! Have you thought about turning this poem into a song??

Thank you! And, no, I’ve not given any thought to using these words as lyrics. Not because of any version, more due to my lack of musical ability
